Tajweed:
At
Al-Huda, one of the main foci of Quranic education is the
improvement of the students’ Arabic recitation capability.
Therefore, daily classes usually commence with Tajweed. A teacher
who is proficient in the recitation of the Quran recites an ayah
at a time and the students repeat after him/her. The methodology
used is that of “listening closely and repeating with maximum
emulation”. Students are also taught the “Arabic Qai’dah”
(correct pronunciation of the Arabic alphabet, rules of Tajweed) and
tested on their recitation skills. They are also constantly made to
listen to the recitation of several qurra’
(renowned reciters of the Quran) as a part of this learning process.
