WAKE UP CALL

Stories of the earthquake everyone shares
It fills our hearts with despair
People dying everywhere
For lack of food, shelter and care
Many rushing to help those in need
Putting aside all their greed
Trying to make sense of all their pain
Is their anything for us to gain?
While most people ask why
It's warning for the heedful eye
A time to turn to our Lord
In hope that he may forgive us all
A time to hold on to the Quran tight
so that it may guide us to the right
A time to hasten to do good deeds
And leave behind all our bad deeds
A time to enjoin all that is right
And forbidding the bad with all might
A time to reflect on ourselves
Where have we gone wrong?
Oh Allah we ask your help
A time to finally wake up and take heed
So that in both lives we may succeed
