A BEACON OF LIGHT
FOR THE YOUTH

Assalam Alaikum,
I just wanted to let you know that you are doing a great job in reaching
out to people and broadening their horizons about Islam. I love
listening to your lectures. They are addicting. I took up taking the
scarf last August. It was then that I felt that people consider a person
covering her hair as religious and expect that person to possess more
knowledge in the field than the average person. Thus began my journey of
finding out what Islam was about. I am listening to the tafseer of the
Quran by you and the English version by Aminah Elahi. Both are extremely
good. My objective is not to spend hours upon hours slumped on the chair
listening to the lectures. I want to observe and practice what I listen
to and during the process I have got my family and friends to listen to
these lectures too!!
Can you imagine a 14 year old discussing the philosophy of fate in the
light of Islam with her friends. No wonder every body calls me "Dai
Jaan". Right now the small Pakistani community here in China has
arranged for a dars which takes place every week in which ladies listen
to the tafseer of the Quran by you .So I think you have succeeded in
reaching out to many people.
I just wanted to let you know that you serve as a beacon of light
for the youth of today as you put across the message of Islam in an
appropriate manner. You sure deserve a huge round of applause and I am
sure you get a lot of it too........so this mail joins the hundreds of
others sitting in your inbox in attempts to boost your morale and keep
you going in the right direction.
Wassalaam,
Saira Ahmed
