Disaster that Struck

The earthquakes of Saturday 8th October, 2005 have devastated wide areas of NWFP, Kashmir and Federal capital Islamabad. Many remote areas of NWFP and Kashmir are known to be wiped out completely. It is estimated that the death toll has crossed the huge figure of 87,000 with more than 3,300,000 people effected. It is feared that this number may increase further. Communication links and roads have been badly damaged. Those who survived are suffering from starvation, disease and the varying climate. We as Muslims, Pakistanis and Human Beings are required to help them in this hour of need.

What Al-Huda is doing?

We have opened up a relief cell in main centers Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi where all items required for the helpless and injured people are being collected, packed and transported to Al-Huda centers in the effected areas. Other branches are also collecting donations in different forms and forwarding to the main centers. We are coordinating with the armed forces and local effectees for the distribution of these relief items. Arrangements for army helicopters have also been made for the timely and effective distribution to those remote areas where road transport is not possible.
